Careers — the one who signs

Be the name
on the release.

At Syntax the job has changed. Agents write the first draft, test it and document it. Our people do the part that matters: judging the intent, owning the architecture, reading every change for what it exposes — and signing every release. We hire people who want to be the one who signs.

01 — Your first review

An agent wrote this.
Would you sign it?

Three changes, each drafted by an agent, each passing its own tests, each with a confident summary. Each hides one real flaw — the kind a strong engineer catches before production. Find the line, then decide.

02 — The work, now

The typing moved.
The judgement didn’t.

Agents draft, test and document. What’s left is the part that was always the job — four questions, asked of every change.

  1. 01

    Intent

Is this what the client actually needs?

Agents do exactly what they’re asked. Someone has to sit with the people who run the process, work out what the change is for, and decide what it must never do.

  2. 02

    Architecture

Will it still be right in three years?

An agent optimises the change in front of it. We own the shape of the whole system: its boundaries, its data, the ways it can fail.

  3. 03

    Security

    Who else can reach this?

Every change is read for what it exposes, not only for what it does. We have helped clients to ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and that work starts in review.

  4. 04

    Sign-off

    Does it ship?

A release doesn’t go out until a named senior engineer has approved it. That isn’t a policy on a page. It’s a step in the pipeline that can’t be skipped.

About ten years of building our own systems and AI engines — for build speed, performance, interfaces, QA and security. All of it so our people spend their days on those four questions.

03 — Disciplines

we hire for.

Not a list of live vacancies: the kinds of people we look for. If yours is here, tell us what you’ve built.

  1. Senior software engineers — write to us

Own the architecture, the code review and the release. The signature on every release is one of yours.

  2. Prompt engineers — write to us

Write the instructions agents work from, give them the right context, and measure what comes back.

    Instructions · context · evals

  3. QA & test engineers — write to us

Own the automated suites and the human pass: the test the agent didn’t think to write.

  4. Security engineers — write to us

Read every change for what it exposes, and help clients through ISO 27001 and SOC 2.

  6. Delivery leads — write to us

Own scope, sequence and saying no, and put a working prototype in front of a client within the week.
